Spam Filter Set to Stun

I woke up a few mornings ago to 3,000 email messages in one of my e-accounts. Not even good messages. All goofy. I had been spammed but good. Not just your basic spam, but one of those evil e-things that keeps on giving. I was over 5,000 by noon. I set my email filter up a notch. Still more goofy messages. Up another notch. They kept coming. When it was on the highest setting and they still kept coming, I have to admit I found myself looking around in the spam filter choices for a setting called STUN.

            Ever get a message—or a boatload of messages—you found stunning? The message of God’s mercy really is stunning. It’s gloriously stunning. Who would expect a holy God to show such startling mercy? Ephesians 2:4-5 says, “because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ,” (NIV). I love the way The Message phrases it:  “immense in mercy and with an incredible love, he embraced us.” What a picture! Praise God for his merciful embrace.

            Hey, email me if you love basking in the message of his immense mercy and incredible love. But be careful. Remember, my spam filter might be set on stun.
