| Opening Up...
Greetings E-Friends -
It’s great to get to e-chat with you for a minute or two! Even about the little things. The new kitchen knife I bought recently, for instance. I was happy to get the knife, but the problem was that I needed the knife to get the knife out of the package. What’s up with that mega-plastic stuff? It’s impenetrable—stronger than the shields on the Star Ship Enterprise. I had to use scissors. I finally got an edge of the package cracked. Shields down to 98%. By the time I got all the way in and started working on the 50-gage wire that tied it down, I needed a shower, a strong cup of coffee and maybe a couple of stitches. Nevermind the scissors. Anyone have a chainsaw?
I really do want to always be “open” with you. And here’s hoping we can all shoot for being open with each other in every way—totally without that plastic packaging. Shields all the way down. It’s good to be transparent. Okay, the packaging was transparent, too. But we can be transparent in a good way, reaching out in the love of Jesus and avoiding every unnecessary barrier. Isn’t that the best way to stay “sharp” in Jesus?

Doggie Treats

“So get rid of all evil behavior. Be done with all deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech. Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment,”
1 Peter 2:1-2, NLT.
My daughter has this pup that’s about as big as a peanut. I’m still totally amazed at how much this thing can eat. It’s like a teenager. And what she eats? That’s baffling, too. Yesterday she ate part of a pencil, half the lining of my favorite purse and at least one June bug.
Now personally, I can’t... [read more]

PATSY CLAIRMONT SAYS THIS ABOUT
WHATSOEVER THINGS ARE LOVELY:
"Bling me up, girlfriend! Rhonda dazzles us again with her wit and winsomeness as she helps us truly accessorize. There's nothing, absolutely nothing, like the sparkle of God's Word, which Rhonda helps us step into and wear well. "

Here’s what the publisher says:
A beautiful bracelet, stylish new scarf, or pair of sleek sunglasses--there's always room in a girl's closet for the perfect fashion accessory. But what about spiritual accessories? In Whatsoever Things Are Lovely, humorist and Bible teacher Rhonda Rhea challenges women to pursue those with the same passion that might be inspired by a blowout sale at their favorite department store.
Pure things, holy things . . . lovely things. These are the life "accessories" that are must-haves, says Rhea. And using Philippians 4:8-9 as a springboard, she takes women on a fun adventure infused with practical spiritual truth about how focusing on those things can lead to more fruitful, more blessed, and more peace-filled lives. Includes a discussion guide, making it great for small group Bible studies. |

Adding Some Fruit
Looking to add some extra fruit to your next event? Add on support for a ministry project by having women bring items of need for a mission trip your church is taking, baby things for your local crisis pregnancy center, goodies for women in prison, or items for other worthwhile causes with needs your women can meet. Nothing like adding an extra level of ministry. Ministry on ministry!

Feedback Corner:
Dear Rhonda,
While sitting here at my computer at work, I chose to read one of your writings. Thank you so much for the eye-opener. I loved the story and laughed and related—and even learned a couple of things. Though I may be a late bloomer in my faith walk, I start new each day and hopefully I am a little closer to God at the same time. Thank you so much for the teaching.
